Insurance companies are intentionally cheap about the offers they make on Maryland car accident cases but there are variables that are the underpinnings of their evaluation. Individual crash cases may involve more esoteric considerations but for most cases the list that follows will be pretty comprehensive.
). Evidence of clear crash liability or legal responsibility
). Severity of the crash. Total loss, graphic pictures?
). Immediacy of crash-related symptoms. Ambulance from the scene or hospital visit within 24 hours.
). Severity of injuries. Broken bones herniated discs, concussions.
). Prompt, consistent medical treatment
). Well-documented wage or income loss. Paystubs, W-2s, tax returns
). Absence of pre-existing injuries to body parts involved in crash
). For cases where #7 is not possible, clear differentiation between pre-existing injuries and post-crash injuries
). Clear medical evidence of both continuing/ ongoing crash-related medical treatment needs
). Full explanation of any permanent injuries and how they are related to the crash and what limitations they will result in
While there are many other considerations these ten variables should be largely comprehensive for most cases. Ror more guidance call Clark and Steinhorn, LLC at (301) 317-1001 or reach out to us at [email protected]
